Tenth Avenue North Classic

THE CHALLENGE

Tenth Avenue North wished to create an event that would raise funds for four different nonprofit organizations. Additionally, they needed to create two videos to convey their message during the event and to sell sponsorships for the event.

THE SOLUTION

Guided Impact created a celebrity golf tournament, paired with a concert, that lasted for eight years (2013-2019).

The event featured musical performances from groups including:

  • Tenth Avenue North

  • Jon McLaughlin

  • TobyMac

  • Needtobreathe

  • MercyMe

  • Chris August

  • and Scotty McCreary

 

The golf tournament was held on two courses and included celebrities such as:

  • Rod Brind'amour

  • Jaccob Slavin

  • Stewart Cink

  • Brian Urlacher

  • and Kevin Streelman

Guided Impact sold sponsorships in which a given team would play with a celebrity and then attend the 400-person dinner, which featured not only a concert but also a live and silent auction and a raffle. We secured all sponsorships and acquired the items for the silent and live auction and the raffle. We implemented a registration system and organized a team of 30 volunteers to execute the event that day. We also created a video to assist in our messaging during the event and a promo video to help sell more sponsorships in future years. The four nonprofits to which the funds went were Cru, College Golf Fellowship, FCA Golf, and Compassion International.

THE RESULTS

Over the course of eight years, we raised more than $1.5 million directly benefiting the nonprofits and more than $1 million in additional giving. Guided Impact’s ability to connect the attendees of the event with the various nonprofits led several attendees to become regular donors.
